This May, we had the total pleasure of playing for the launch of the 2017 Noted Festival, at the National Library of Australia. Check out the space!
Noted Festival is an annual literary festival held in Canberra, Australia’s Capital City. It celebrates experimental writing and literature, as well as the voices and work of non-normative, marginalised, and minority writers and experiences. The festival draws guests from all around Australia and the world – we felt super-honoured to be invited to play for it’s launch. Get over and like their Facebook page stat!
As you can imagine – the acoustics of our venue were amazing! As was the food, and the crowd. The stand-out part of the night, was the speeches given by three wonderful women: a strong and reminding Welcome to Country from Ngunnawal Elder Nin Jannette Phillips, a great opening speech from Noted Director Lucy Nelson, and a launch by Distinguished Professor Jen Webb, Director of Creative and Cultural Research at University of Canberra.
