Emerging Artist Award

On the last weekend in October, Hark the Heart were invited to attend the 2016 CAPO Awards. The Capital Arts Patrons’ Organisation is a volunteer non-profit organisation that has supported the ACT region’s artists for over 30 years, by recognising and funding the talents of local musicians, writers, dancers, theatre-makers and visual artists.

This year, we have been working on a special project. We’ll give you a subtle hint: it’s a song. It’s about inclusivity. Are you surprised? We were when we received a call from CAPO to tell us we’d been awarded the National Press Club of Australia Emerging Artist Award for the exactly this project. We were THRILLED.

You are correct! That’s Paul McDermott! He IS wearing burgundy velveteen tails! See if you can spot us in this crowd:

We’ll be sure to let you know as soon as production is happening, early in 2017. Until then, we’ll see you at another ceremony real soon.
